4-Part Prevention Education Series

Ages 12 – 18 Within the SFUSD and community Bilingual English-Spanish

Youth nowadays face a multitude of challenges and stressors. Some youth find themselves tempted to use alcohol or drugs as a means to cope with these pressures. This series will provide information and the opportunity to discuss these topics which impact greatly on everyday life.

Program Summary

An innovative and best practice curriculum that combines years of community specific substance use topics with more recent and emerging environmental prevention trends and concepts.

The curriculum includes workshops and lessons on:

  1. Family, Community, and Cultural Norms
  2. Media Messaging, Social Media, and Peer Pressure
  3. Association with Positive Peers/Support Systems
  4. Stress (ors) and Coping Mechanisms
Schedule

The 4-Part Prevention Education Series is offered year-round for youth attending community based organizations and within the SFUSD, based on request, schedule, and availability. The series ranges from 4-6 weeks in duration and up to 2 hours per session.
