Horizons Unlimited of Francisco, Inc. The DJ Project Receives Grant from The NAMM Foundation
San Francisco, CA, January 2026 – Horizons Unlimited of San Francisco, Inc. has been named a grant recipient of The NAMM Foundation. The organization was selected as one of 57 programs serving music makers across all industry segments in 26 states and five countries providing access to music-making opportunities to a variety of different communities and demographics, including those who are underrepresented.
Eligibility/Commitment
- Currently Enrolled High School Youth
- Commit to an 8 month program cycle
- Available to attend program Tue, Wed, Thur 4:00-6:00pm
- Youth must reside in San Francisco
Program Summary
The DJ Project’s one-of-a-kind DJing classes harness the hip-hop culture and use it as a medium through which youth validate their own existence and express themselves. Under the guidance of a world-renowned DJ and scratch guru, youth participate in a variety of cutting-edge and industry specifi c skill building trainings such as scratching, digital DJing, and live performances, while also engaging in lessons in professionalism, project management, artist development, and collaboration. Our youth have gone on to become high-profile DJs in the industry while contributing to a cultural movement that promotes inclusion and attachment.
Trainings culminate in public performances during in-house events such as graduation ceremonies and orientations, but also at highly attended and famous community events such as Lover’s Lane & Paseo Artistico.
